Chris Young is a jazz alto saxophonist and composer based in Birmingham. Chris recently graduated from the Birmingham Conservatoire with a First Class Degree after studying under Mike Williams, Jean Toussaint and Andrew Bain. Chris has also been fortunate enough to receive tuition from Dave Holland, Jeff Ballard, George Colligan, Abram Wilson John Taylor, Liam Noble and Eric Alexander. Chris has performed at Cheltenham Jazz Festival both as a sideman and with his sextet. He has also performed at Mostly Jazz, Blue Rock, Stadt Buhl and Maidstone River Festivals as well various clubs around Birmingham and London including : Ronnie Scotts, Charlie Wrights, the Bulls Head, Pizza Express Maidstone, The Yardbird and The Spotted Dog as well as other pubs around Birmingham.
Chris teaches beginners to advanced on saxophone.
